I was asked by a friend to edit a 5-page application. But, this won't be for her, it will be for a co-worker of hers (not a friend of hers). So, she brought up the question of how much do people charge for editing work?

If anybody can help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

I did a 40-page document and got 500K. But that's with the government and generally it's higher.

I would say around 30-50K.

The standard rate per page is 10,000.
The standard rate per hour is 40,000.

In the end, it works out to about the same. Plus if you are being paid by the hour, then you really have to account for your time.

Which one will make you more money depends on the quality of the English and what they want done.

This would appear to be quite reasonable when you consider time and the difficulty of the document. I know for translation services most people are getting exceptional wages in excess of 80,000 KRW per hour, but simple editing should normally be in the 20,000 - 50,000 KRW range. This is what I have seen around.
