I'm well aware that many here consider Buddhists to be the gentle humming birds of our existence but it looks like there might be some religious cleansing going from the robed ones. The Bush Administration is permitting 60,000 plus Hindu Bhutanese refugees to emigrate to The US from refugee camps in Nepal. There are many arguments by the parties concerned and one of them is that Bhutan had purged these people because they wanted a Buddhist state. This plus the expelling of 50,000 plus Hmong from friendly Thailand puts Buddhists in the league with Nazi Germany with its treatment of those that are different. India has refused to help as well. Asylum seeker = "Jew In the Oven".

You wouldn't be attributing stances to people who have never said anything like that, would you?

Haven't you realized that this character's shtick is to pretend to be more enlightened by playing a person that is racist? He has to be more enlightened, so he needs to also pretend that other people are less enlightened.

There are acts of commission...
"Everybody likes Buddhists" , "The Dali lama is coming to town!"

and acts of omission
"Organized religion, ie Christianity and Islam have done so much harm to the world"

Both of these actions show leniency toward Buddhism.

If your posts and thoughts are truly free Buddhist advocacy, then my accusation does not apply to you.

I dunno Plig, he just seems outright racist to me. No schtick involved, unless he's forgetting to signal it.

I dont feel that, and dont see much evidence at all on this forum that people believe it. You`re making things up.

All religion can easily be corrupted and used for political manipulation of a population. That`s why Im against all religion, including buddhism.

you know where he gets his icons from. right? that in and of itself says everything. from "the onion", that grown up version of mad magazine for the new millenium.

so, the power elite in two countries are kicking out others. what skill sets do these folks bring to the US that will benefit the US? i guess they'll be settled in dodge city and can work in the beef processing industries when the mexicans get busted and the ethiopians go on strike.

Hindus are not Buddhists. Moreover, to play the "fascist" card is totally lame. Apparently you have a broadly distorted view of what this actually entails Rolling Eyes

How can Hindus seek to establish a Buddhist state?

btw - has not Bhutan long been Buddhist? Where did these Hindus originate from? Were they by chance Tamil-type militants trying to pull a Sri Lanka?

Who exactly are the Hmong? Sounds like an ethnic grouping.

Got a weblink ... or three ... Baloney?

Gotta say, my opinions on Buddhism notwithstanding, I like your turn of phrase there, Baloney. The gentle humming birds of our existence. I think I'm gonna steal that, if you don't mind.

They are. I vaguely remember something about them being a hill tribe, but I associate them with Vietnam/Laos, not Thailand.

I think we all have to admit that IGTG got this one right:
