Where I'm going to school in Canada, I will get a BA then spend 1.5 years getting a post-BA diploma in education (secondary student stream). Would many Korean schools look upon this favorably, somewhat comparable to a masters? Could I apply to jobs that require a masters in Korea?

Go to Ontario...1year (8mths) and its for a B.Ed not a diploma or certificate like some other provinces do.

You can get into those school positions in Korea that say: must have B.Ed or must be certified teacher.

Plus you can get a job (maybe) when you go back to Canada for good...

Well I was wrong, I found out what I will get is a B.Ed. at my home school as well. Takes 1.5 years though.

My major is philosophy (I'm studying epistemology and the philosophy of education) and my second major is Liberal studies (which is like literature/history). If I go on to get a masters in philosophy writing a thesis on the philosophy of education, will that not provide me with any employment benefits? Do most employers want a masters in education instead? I want to be involved in curriculum design some day.
