My managing coteacher is away from her desk at the moment and I am supposed to complete some teaching idea upload to a website that doesn't exist.

This is what I'm supposed to enter:
www.pen.go.kr_edu/english/index_eng.php

This is what I get:
http://www.baroon.co.kr/nopage.html?q=www.pen.go.kr_edu%2Fenglish%2Findex_eng.php&sn=kr_edu

Has anybody else been instructed to do this? I was given the memo quite awhile but wasn't due to upload my golden two cents worth until this week.

I'm thinking I should just shuffle the memo back into the pile I dug it out from. No one has mentioned it since then and the website is obviously down... perhaps it's not too important with all the other end of the year hullabaloo going on.

Here is the correct address:

http://www.pen.go.kr/foreign_edu/english/index_eng.php

I had to email a friend about it. It turns out that it's correct on the Korean language document but incorrect on the English language document. As usual, not only did they send us the incorrect URL but it came with directions that are unclear to the point of obfuscation. I would expect nothing less!!

Once you get there, click on the blue "Orientation" button. Then, to post your idea, you have to click on 등록. There it will ask you for your name and Korean ID number. But, you know, since Foreigner numbers are good for nothing in this country, you must have a Korean input their name and number. Then you'll get to a form where you can add your idea and upload a document, if you wish. Good luck!!

TDR.

Do they need to hold my pee-pee for me when I go to the bathroom, too?

Fantastic. I really wonder what repercussions I might suffer if I don't do this. My coteachers are all so overworked at this point in the semester that I try to avoid talking with them outside of class.

Will any Korean ID number do? If so I could get my gf to put her's in.

Yes, any Korean's name and ID number will do. My coworkers were busy so I just asked a random teacher who sits near me. And, honestly, I am willing to bet there will be no repercussions at all. It appears that a grand total of three people have completed it.

I checked it out with my gf's help but still couldn't get to the upload page. It seemed to again be missing or under construction.

In hindsight, I have Mozilla and IE installed, maybe I was using Mozilla and that's why I got a blank page... but still I could log-in and whatnot.

Yep, mum's the word on this one until somebody asks me about it.

I think my idea was a good one though, so I'll share it here.

~ Choose one of your high-level students to serve as your assistant during the class. This allows the higher level student to build confidence in their English by having a potential dialogue with you on the class as you go through the material.

It also frees up your coteacher to keep the other kids disciplined.

From my experience just having one of their own in front of them really focuses the classes attention. It's also fun when I let the student assistant assign points for various activities the other students perform. I also let the assistant help decide on punishments for the goof-offs.

I think they should design the site so that foreigners can use it with their own ID numbers before they start requiring foreigners to actually log in.
