all i know is that someone will win in OT... isn't that how most of the games end up these days? with 3 points available in an OT game, why wouldn't teams agree to take every game to overtime, guaranteeing the extra point? it should be 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for an OT win, and 1 point for an OT loss... it's such a sham to see the 'losing' team in a shootout acting all melodramatic, where 5 years ago, both teams would have gotten 1 point!

im a fan of the 3 point OT format. Before it was just play safe OT hockey, not it is balls out 4 on 4.

As for who I want to win...I am a Sens fan so I hate the Leafs. I also hate Leaf fans. Since this latest strong play by Toronto, I am sure the fans have the parade planned down Younge St. Tossers. I hate JFJ and I am really looking forward to him getting fired. So im cheering for the Habs...
The Leafs were very responsible for the Lockout a few years back and with that in mind I love how the new NHL has not worked out for them. I mean come on people...McCabe, 25 mill for 5 years...you poor poor fans! Then they sign Blake to pretty much the same contract...the dude is going to be 38 in his final year...wow! Bad sign. Though I do like Maurice. Good coach...if you think Paul will be gone before JFJ, your dreaming...remember Paul has a cup...JFJ just has bad hair!

How could you hate Ferguson? What has the guy ever done? Aside from disgruntled Leaf fans I can't really understand why anyone would hate him.

As an Ottawa fan I'd think you'd be happy that he's making the Leafs a joke, no?

I hate the fact the guy got a job based on his name. You can argue that it is not the main reason he got job but that is a crock. It is. Yes, he had experience before in the NHL. He was actually a scout for the Sens. But how many scouts out there are becoming first time GMs in one of the biggest markets? None come to mind. He is a daddy's boy.

He had no problems helping ruin the NHL a few years back and he continues to do so by making stupid contracts. Maybe I like his moves, because they are so bloody stupid, but it doesn't mean I have to like the guy.

Habs fan here so...no choice involved!

But....what exactly will the winner win???

These are two pretty inept teams (even if the Leafs are winning more these days)....

The Habs have a non-coach behind the bench and he Leafs are one McCabism away from another loss....wow..battle of the... Laughing

I disagree...Muller is behind the bench...I was watching the game vs Tbay this morning. It was a TSN feed, and the Habs were pressuring and Gord Miller who was calling the game said "if you are wondering where all that yelling is coming from, its is asst.Coach Kirk Muller shouting your one shot away from tying it up"

I thought that was awesome....He will be head coach one day on heart alone for that team....Paddock for Ottawa is a like watching a faucet drip.

I wish Ottawa had that heart on its bench!

They are big games because I think only one can make the playoffs. Philly Bos and CAR are all looking solid after missing last season. So there aint many spots open.

The Leafs (as usual) are wildly up and down. They beat the best teams back to back and then get whupped 7-2 by bottom-feeders.

Pretty evenly matched but for betting purposes I'd take the Leafs this time.

That's cold Laughing But hey, you keep flashing that Habs logo and I'm sure you'll stay single and lonely. Wink

Wifey is Korean, so she doesn't really undestand just how bad the Leafs are. She's catching on quick, though. I always listen to the games in the morning and she's quickly realizing that I'm pissed more often than I am happy. She actually thought I started to cheer for a different team for the last few weeks.

DaeguKid,

Muller is a motivator indeed. He is an excellent assistant. Carbo, for all the respect I have for him as a player, does not know how to coach a hockey team.

The Habs have a decently talented squad of youth but he (coach) botches it up by:

- Insisting on playing 4 lines all the time. He does not know how to shorten his bench when the time is right.
He plays his fourth line when the team is behind...

- Juggling with his lines like some manic lunatic with multiple personality disorder. He cannot stick to a line for longer than a game, sometimes a period.

- Blasting his players through the media and not talking to them face to face.

- Benching the wrong players (i.e. the grunts who work hard).

The list goes on!

In Toronto you have another problem: a completely inept GM that continued the tradition of trading all his pics for some instant gratification. This has left the shelves bare in Leaf-land and Toronto is stuck with bad conracts (McCabe, Kubina, Gill...) and a team with a horrid defence with few or no real prospects coming up...

They are winning now because Maurice knows how to coach a hockey team but they remain one botch away from the dumpster.

So..this saturday..it will be the Garbage Cup at the Bell Centre.

But still..Go Habs Go! Wink
