I'm assuming most people heard of this one. A weirdo who hated Christians and didn't get into 'Youth With A Mission' as a Missionary, went on a killing rampage to kill Christians.
Weird enough. But stranger to me was that he was "he was brought down by gunfire from a volunteer security guard at the church" before shooting himself in the head.
I saw this woman on youtube. She is a BLONDE CHICA who 'brought him down by gunfire'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nujt4QPN61U&feature=related
I'm trying to imagine this attractive blonde woman who VOLUNTEERs as a Security Guard, engages him in the building, and shoots him down! What in the world?!!? I was equally surprised by the fact they have a dozen armed security guards in this Colorado Church. Just seems weird to me. |

You would think all those people there praying to a living god wouldn't need guards. If god can heal people, get them out of wheel chairs, he can't stop semi automatic rifle fire? Silly god. |

"An autopsy Tuesday determined that Murray killed himself with a bullet
to the head after he was brought down by gunfire from a volunteer
security guard at the church, authorities said."

Jesus guided that bullet! Of course Jesus could have had the gunman hit by a bus before he even got close to the church. |

Not really. If you believe a God can cure illnesses, then obviously he can stop gunfire also.

Apparently the only people with a more puerile grasp of religion than the fundamentalist evangelicals are the atheists on this board. |

Sorry you may be slow. IF you believe that God can intervene on this world and perform miracles such as curing illnesses then God also must be able to perform miracles such as re-directing the path of bullets.
What is your problem with this statement? Lot's of people believe in miracles not just the fundamental evangelicals. It's a common religious belief. |

Really? This isnt baiting religious people?
You think a lot of people believe what MM2 is stating?
I'm beginning to think atheists are friggin morons.
No, its not *remotely* necessary that someone who believes in miracles would also believe God would stop bullets. |

Whether it is baiting or not is not the issue. I said it is only logical that if God can perform one miracle he can perform another. If you are saying he can break physical laws in one way, then he can break it in another way. You said it was a silly statement, I disagreed for the above reasons.
I believe alot of people believe in miracles. Alot of people believe that when they narrowly avert death such as in a car crash, plane crash etc that God saved them. There is no difference between that and changing the path of bullets.

Well i said God would be able to..but still they mightn't believe that God WOULD stop bullets but I don't see what their basis for that belief is. If you believe that God will intervene in any way on this earth then you must extend that to other ways in which he can help people. This includes stopping or redirecting bullets pulp fiction stylee. |

What can be said is that this stupid woman who was lucky to shoot the killer calims (as they aloways do) that Jesus guided her in her efforts. Really? Jesus loves her more than the people who were killed? How nice for her. |

Armed volunteer security guards at a *church*??? I've heard that in Holland when military officers enter a church in formal uniforms (for weddings and funerals and such) it's customary for them to leave their swords outside attended by someone at a table as a show of respect for the peace and nutrality of Christ. At the church mentioned above volunteers are patrolling around the church with guns? Another good reason not to go to church, I suppose. |
