Does the employer have to keep my pension payments up to date monthly, or does he only have to contribute a certain amount (ie. 95%) for the year, then make sure the rest is in there by a certain time?
In my case, my 9% contribution (4.5% from my check, 4.5% from him) is 228,600. But when I got my 6 month letter from the pension office, it stated that he is only putting in 217,800 per month.
Over 6 months I have 1,306,800 in there. This does not include the bit of overtime I've done, and had extra pension deducted. The actual amount should be a few hundred thousand won more.
I would like to contact the pension office about this matter. How do I go about this? Does anybody know if I have a leg to stand on here? Can he be forced to update it immediately?
ALSO, I have a hunch that he is skimming off my tax in the same manner. Does he also have to file my taxes monthly too, or is it a year-end thing?
Does anybody know of how to contact the tax office in Dong Daegu area to find out if he isn't paying my taxes?[/b] |

Apparently he's screwing me in more ways than one. He SHOULD be taking off only 112,500 each check, but he is actually taking off 114,300 (for 2,500,000).
The numbers still don't add up. He should be putting at least 225,000 away for pension each month, but he is only putting away 217,800. |

Pension numbers are NOT exactly 4.5% + 4.5%.
Thay are based on "brackets" based on income and you pay a fixed rate when your income falls within each bracket. These rates are about 4.5% for your contribution and then that is matched by your employer.
I don't see any problem with the rates you are paying.
IF you have problems with it, contact the pension office directly. Call 1355 (from a land based phone) to find the office nearest to you. If you are calling from work, make sure you don't need to dial 9 or something to get an outside line before you dial 1355. From a cell phone, 02-1355 should work.

As for the taxes, he isn't deducting more than he should. However, I now know that he is shorting people in some ways, and over-charging on rent for other teachers. I just would not be surprised if he owes more than a few hundred thousand won more in taxes.
For example, I've worked 3 months were I had overtime, and my checks were large, and I had over 200,000 taken off in taxes. I just want to know that he is paying that extra (over the 77,140 he takes off my normal check). |
