Anyone know where I can get quality gift box style chocolates without having to go to Shinsegae.
Its for a present so obviously foreign ones would assume priority here. |

Depending on how fancy you wanted to be, you might want to try Starbucks. They sell small gift boxes of chocolates and that Lindt Excellence stuff too. I don't much fancy your chances of getting a decent, proper box of artisan chocolates anywhere in this country. |

Try Costco if there's one near to you. |

I can't stand Lindt. So overrated. My girlfriend loves them, but I shudder when someone gives me Lindt chocolate. The name alone should be a dead giveaway. "Oh, I forgot I have Lindt in my pocket"
Anyhoo, it is possible to get artisan style chocolates, but certainly not for a reasonable price. Sounds like you'll be stuck giving Lotte chocolates. |

I love Lindt! It's soooo underrated here in the States where Godiva and Ghirardelli seem to rule the specialty chocolate line. They sell more and IMO, isn't as good. |

as soon as i hit the 'submit' button costco entered my mind.
which set did you get was it the French truffles or something? I think that will be my best bet.
To be honest it doesnt have to be the fanciest of the fanciest just as long as the packaging isnt drapped in hanguel. Shinsegae prices are outlandish for boxed chocolates.

Oh come on now. Haven't you been to Walmart or a Big K mart recently? They sell that crap like it was made in China. For all I know, it probably was! |

Lindt has no refinement in their production line |

OK so it's not Debauve & Gallais or La Maison du Chocolat but it's damn good considering how cheap it is and it lacks the waxy feel of the other chocolates within it's category. I still think that it's much better than Godiva and Ghirardelli, which people seem to flock where I'm at.
As for good chocolate, might I recommend Chuao Chocolatier (http:www.chuaochocolatier.com) they hail from my hometown and the only artisan chocolate shop in the region. The Picante flavored ChocoPod's are surprisingly very good! |

Crown Bakery and Paris Baguette usually have small boxes as promos for whatever flavor-of-the-month holiday is going on. |
