Is 10 days too much time (or not enough) to spend in Kuala Lumpur alone? Where else should I go within relative close proximity? |

Unless you know people in KL, 10 days is too long. You're not likely to need more than 3 solid days. Maybe 4. Check out the Batu Caves, do some shopping at KLCC and in Bukit Bintang, eat some good food, visit Bangsar and the historic areas... maybe the KL Tower if you like tall structures. Stay in Bukit Bintang if possible.
Malacca's about an hour and a half away and should not be missed.
If you've got that much time, check out the discount fares on AirAsia and FireFly. Penang's worth a visit. I've never been over to East Malaysia but the ecotourism options are supposed to be great. You've got more than enough time to fly down to Singapore or up to Phuket or Bangkok, too. Or anywhere in the region, really. |

Spent much more than that there, myself. Do you have to be DOING something every day, or just hanging out? |

Yeah, 3 days max sounds about right. Penang is more interesting if you ask me, and Melacca is worth visiting too. Cameron Highlands is popular but I wasn't too into it myself.
What are you interested in more? Cities or nature? |

It depends where you like to travel. If u perfer seaside or island. Then i suggest u travel to east of malaysia. Over there, the sea water is very clean like crystal. You can even see the bottom of water even 30 to 40 ft above it. |

I am more interested in the cultural and historical relics and sites. I like the modern stuff as well but its certainly not a seaside relaxing trip.
