| I'm looking at going public next year (no, I'm not a stock on the NYSE) and see that I could qualify for a higher level thanks to my TESOL (100-hour) cert and two years here teaching. However, does my hagwon count as an accredited institution? It is a larger chain, but does "accredited" mean "public?" Thanks! |

| Most public schools will accept your hagwon teaching as part of the requirement for previous experience in a school. Some will not, but I would think that the majority of schools will soon be hard pressed to turn away potential employees with all of the new immigration regulations that are obviously going to cause recruiting nightmares. |

| I worked 2 years at a Kid's Herald franchise and was able to qualify for a higher pay scale. Pretty sure you'll be able too. |

Depends on the school. In my case - yes. Same as you, I had 2 yrs at hakkies and one yr at a public plus 100 hrs tefl cert. Am now on the top pay scale.
But you will HAVE TO supply references and letters of attendance to prove you taught there. So make sure you leave on good terms and keep / obtain your managers phone numbers / email addresses etc... |
