is it me or is it getting harder to secure a position teaching adults in seoul city? almost every position availabe is for teaching kids. not for me. what's going on? is it because of the JET people coming over and flooding the market? whats the reason?

1. There are always more kids positions available.
2. There are still lots of adult positions (though the hours are not always as good).
3. You mean NOVA right? Might be having an impact- hard to say.

The education ministry does not normally fund adult education and most adults are too busy to attend hakwons. Most opportunities to teach adults are usually at businesses or factories and only part time.

Yup.

You better start throwing resumes at universities if you want to get away from the baby-sitter's club.

Most are only part-time and in the morning and illegal if you only have an E2 visa. Take a look on Koreanherald.co.kr

Like you, I also refuse to teach children again unless I'm totally desperate.

High school students aren't too bad though. I'd actually prefer them to university students. The high schoolers are exhausted from their brutal study schedules but they don't come to class hungover like many uni students do. If you catch them in HS texting in class or listening to music, it's much easier to discipline them than it would be in a uni.

Just something to think about... I really like working with the high school age group.
