My Dave's idiowhats???
Despite racking up thousands upon thousands of posts, I probably abort half as many again, either at the Preview stage and nobody ever sees it, or sometimes after I've already submitted it, read it in situ, and decided "Wait a minute here -- I don't want to be THAT big of an ass!" This has caused a number of posters over the years to post "Hey, am I losing it, or was there a post here by JongnoGuru just a minute ago? "
Another of my idiowhats is, I don't read the FAQ Forum. Fascinating, yes? |

I use different browsers to lurk and post. Y'see, on my regular browser I block all cookies (and flash and what have you). So if I want to post, I have to open up my anything-goes browser. Which is fine, but it takes about three ice ages to open.
The upshot of this is that I have to really want to write the post if I'm going to go through the rigmarole of opening up the anything-goes browser, so it cuts down on frivolous posting. |

I find myself doing the same thing. I should probably do it more often. |

*Usually eating breakfast. In the morning it's Hotmail, then Facebook then Dave's, followed by fantasy football then online bank, then back to Dave's (normally about orange juice and tea phase by then)
*I always reply straightaway to PM's asking for help or advice (always surprised because I get quite a few)
*The first thing I do is check view my posts to see if anybody has added anything.
*If I see a certain poster has been the last to post on the main page I'll always check them out, follow them if you will. Not stalk though. My two favourites at the moment are twg (never seen a post that's actually ever been serious or on-topic, still waiting) and Homer (always good constructed posts)
*Often think about the sheer number of posts and man hours that have gone into writing posts for the duration that Dave's has been running, and thinking what'd be the consequences of it all getting wiped if the caretaker accidentally switches off the computer or Dave's being taken off the internet. Consequently thinking about how many of the posters here might cry because of that, guessing about 10. |
