|
|
I was looking for quiz materials at Funtrivia.com (which I cannot recall registering for) and clicked on 'game shows'. What I discovered is more addictive than heroin, cocaine and nicotine combined.
There are two 'game show' quizes, whereby you compete against real opponents from all over the world. Up to 4 players can compete and slots always fill up quickly because the site presumably gets so much traffic because it's so addictive. It shows your username and the flag of the country you're in. It's in English so naturally most of the players are from English-speaking countries, but I've played against an Israeli, a Swede and a Serb also.
It has two games and the site says more are to be added. They're both general knowledge/multiple choice games. For more info, register and play.
WARNING: ADDICTIVE |

Been there, done that.
Anyone played Second Life yet? There's was a nice piece about it on one of the western news media services this weekend. People can actually build second lives there. |

They should merge WoW and Second Life. I imagine it would be fun to roll through that game with a mage.

Pretty cool games. But have you tried the "Attack" app on Facebook? It's basically playing "Risk" online. Really addictive and a huge time burner. |

Back when the media was going nuts over Second Life I tried it and found
it boring. I tried it again a few months ago and now it's boring with audio
chat. Later I heard a news story that said they were having trouble getting
new people involved. |

Everyone who is so desperately unsatisfied with real life (and can afford a computer) is already paying. Er, "playing". |

Yeah. Just uninstalled it. Boring as paste. Maybe it's fine if you pay money and build your own world and people come to it and host their christian dance parties there... but I really couldn't see the attraction. It's IRC with avatars. I dunno. I like to talk to people but I don't need to be reminded visually there are so many furries in this world. |

Yeah! Worst thing since MS Bob.
Quote: |
However, the method that this software used to achieve the comic effect was to prepend an unreadable code in parentheses to the plain text of the user's speech, which defined what emotion the character expressed. This had a somewhat annoying effect on non-Comic Chat users. The inclusion of this code could be disabled, but this would result in being unable to transmit characters' emotion states to other Comic Chat users. |
Reading the wiki entry I remember this now. Comic chat interfaced with the IRC networks. They would spew their codes and instantly enrage us Mirc users. Instant ban along with warnings about "don't use blood comic chat you tard!" |

MWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!
Actually, I got kinda pissed off, because the 'Conquer and Quiz' game has just sports, music, movie, TV questions - no longer any geography, science/nature, history - proper subjects, in other words.
I still enjoy 'Last one standing' though.
You know what? Some of the other players are ridiculous how quickly they answer (0.2 seconds and stuff, when I've not even finished reading the question! ) |
