My husband and I are applying to graduate programs in the states. Our contracts end by March 1st, and we are considering extending so that we can put some more money away before starting school in the fall. However, this wouldn't give us the option of visiting schools that accepted us before making a decision. I am torn between prioritizing the visits and prioritizing saving before we fall into graduate student poverty for a couple years. Advice?

Pick the graduate program that is better known/recognized. Also, get as much literature as possible. Ask the schools to send you brochures and see about contacting alumni from the repective schools to get their thoughts. I'm sure if you told them you are in Korea and you want some feedback from the programs, they'll give it to you.
