I have sent all of the paperwork to the school. The got it all today, and will be going into Daejeon Immigration Office tomorrow. Included in the package sent were: Original degree, sealed/stamped transcripts, signed contract, medical self check form, apostillized police check and 3 passport photos. The school already had a word doc. of my resume, so this saved having to include this.
The school seems to feel they should have the visa number by the end of the week. Fingers crossed! |

No notarised previous work reference?
Did they say you will have to fly home for interview? |

Daejeon Immigration office didn't ask us for notarised references- I would hope that they could check their E-2 records and see that we have been issued E-2's since 2000! We are back in Australia, and are doing it all from here. The interview issue is the only thing I am not sure of at the moment.
Daejeon Imm. said to the school we would need one at home, even though we have held an E-2 before. The consulate in Sydney told me (when I called last week) that we wouldn't need one if we held an E-2 which THEY had issued before- Sydney issued our original one in 2000, but in our old passports. As the numbers are different, who knows if they will be able to match us!
I am basing things on the fact I will have to fly to Sydney for the interview, and will use it as a trip to visit some family there. If we don't have to go, then good. |

| I got released from my previous contract on 11/28, my new employer sent my paperwork in (No CRC....just the basics....transcript, diploma, picture) on 11/30, got the confirmation number back on 12/13, went to Japan on 12/17 and was back in Korea on 12/18 with a new E-2 for 1 year. I made sure everything was done before the 15th. All of this was done in Seoul. No problems! |
