Thanks for the invite, but I'll decline. I know myself and I know what I like and your potluck won't have any of it.
But enjoy yourselves. |

Actually, Lisa said she was going to make a Yule Log, which is pretty freakin' impressive.
I'm looking forward to the desserts, mainly! |

| This is something I've never quite understood. I'm a main course person and never eat dessert. At the vege club meeting last month where we visited the vegan ice-cream place a few of the attendees admitted to only really coming for the ice-cream. Ideas on why people might prefer the dessert part more? |

Some people prefer sweet things, others prefer savoury (or sour, bitter, etc).
Personally, my love goes first to savoury foods, then to sour. But I like dessert too, if it's not overly sweet, and especially if the quality is good. I also like baking a lot, so I tend to have dessert fairly often.
Ideally, I like a balance. |

I used to like "Balence" (and "Power" ) bars back in the states.
I'm pretty sure I'll bring too much stuff as usual - mostly vegan...

What a great turn-out! Beautiful food too-- curries, spring-rolls, latkes, pasta...
Lisa's apartment could have held 40 people easily (probably in the bathroom alone) so next time we'll have to bring our dancing shoes and do something with that extra space.
I enjoyed meeting everyone and was particularly pleased to see a bunch of Korean vegans/vegetarians there too. The next meeting will be on the first Sunday of January.
Thank you Lisa for hosting us, and to everyone else for coming! |

The potluck was really lots of fun. I'd be glad to host another one again sometime.
Mmm so much good food.
It was great to meet everyone, too. |

ZOMG SEOUL VEGAN GROUP IS SO FOR THE WIN! I'll be there providing I don't have to wack some cab driver to get there. I've sworn off contract killing until the holidays are over and I'd hate to slip off my goals on a freelance job.
'sides they pay so poorly.
I'm not a vegan so no clue what to bring other than some drink. Any requests for me in the hard liquor department? |

Hehe, it already passed, Dan. The meetup was yesterday. But you could come to the next meetup. I don't think it'll be a potluck; probably a vegetarian restaurant, though that's just a guess and you should ask Kermo.
I'm not vegan either, btw. It's actually a vegetarian club, not a vegan one. Though there are a lot of vegans, and I think that's awesome. And meat-eaters are welcome to events too, if they want to hang out with vegetarians over a veggie meal. |

The last time "Dan" came to a veggie club meeting I was still the club president, and only two people showed up.
Since then, he's stated his intention to attend, but he's always been a no-show for one reason or another (eg: conflicts with his hiking club ...)
Anyway, his posts at least keep our threads going - so he's helping promote vegetarianism in his own way ...
Like "kermo" noted, "littlelisa's" spacious apartment does have potential for more than just a vegetarian dinner gathering.
Unfortunately, "kermo" mentioned dancing, and there is enough room for that. There's also a piano there. How about a talent show or a karaoke contest? (Of course, I'd be a lock to win...)
Or we could film a parody of "Dancing With the Stars" (featuring celebrity posters from "Dave's") and post it on YouTube for instant fame - if not fortune... |

I enjoyed desserts when I was a kid, but after I tasted the bitterness of beer I could never go back to enjoying very sweet foods. My taste buds, as happens to many people, changed as I reached adolescence. |

| I'll be in Seoul this spring (hopefully) and seeing these posts gets me excited. I'm a vegan and one of my biggest concerns about coming over is finding new places and foods to eat w/o meat and dairy. I'll be joining the club once I arrive!!! |

| Right on. PM me your email address and I'll make sure you're on the mailing list (I'm the veggie club prez.) I haven't updated the blog or the facebook page, but there are always meetings on the first Sunday (usually lunch) and 3rd Saturday (often dinner) of each month. |

| Will this be a lacto-ovo party? I make wicked, evil and devilishly delicious deviled eggs. All washed back with a vodka tonic. |
