I'm reading Shogun, by James Clavell (which I defintely recommend), and they keep mentioning "vassals" or "vassal states".

And I vaguely remember playing a highly enjoyably computer/video game in the early 1990's where you or the other civilizations could make vassals of one another, and have them pay you gold or something...

But I can't remember what game it was.

I know it wasn't high technology or anything, which is why it has to be early 90's. We only had the Nintendo family for consoles, but we played computer games from time to time..

If anyone can figure it out, then I'll tell you a secret code so that you can keep getting new lives on Ikari Warriors.

I dunno...I keep getting flashes of it..I think it's percolating in the back of my mind somwhere.

Thanks for the suggestions, though.

You know, I looked at this again, and it might actually be this game...I just didn't recognize the title...Thanks...

On a similiar note, I found out that I would need DosBox to run this, and I went to the website to download it, and they have a huge list of games to play..

Yay! Now I can play Beyond Zork again! Smile

I think it was one of the versions of Romance of The Three Kingdoms. One of my favorite series. KAOI makes them. You can definately make vassals of other states.

Maybe someone can help find this one....I think it goes way back...

A small 3-eyed ferret races around a huge donut on a tricycle flinging froot loops onto short, unsharpened pencils standing upright on a moist towelette with a checkerboard pattern on it?

Man....I really want to get my hands on that one again.

Mike Tyson's Ferret Race 2 (early 90's title)
*note: the checkerboard pattern on the moist towelette can be switched out for a plaid-like pattern with the konami code (up up down down left right left right B A B A select start)

KOEI (not KAOI) makes (made?) the Romance of the Three Kingdom series. RoTK2 was the best though. they are also they guys behind the current Dynasty Warrior franchise.

That would have been real helpful about 20 years ago. Very Happy
