Hello everyone!
I'm helping out with a new forum site and was wondering if some of you could check it out and give me some feedback? We have a basic layout and sample forums set up, but need some expert advice.
We have big plans for this site and want to do it right. Feel free to post to help us get things rolling.

The #1 mistake made in starting a new forum is too many categories. You have too many.
Also, no need to be so anal with the requirements for your blacklist

is way too long for any sane person to wade through.
Just 2 things off the top of my head. |

Good point King of Kwanju. We will look into to using a few topics and go from there if this site takes off. And will leave the blacklist sections open for now (no long template). We had them there as more of a guide but I can see how overwelming it looks.

It looks nice, but the title is about Asia, while the content seems to focus on Korea.
If you want to attract people interested in Korea, then Korea should be in the title.
If that is your goal, you are making a mistake by not including Korea in the title. |

Understood, but we were hoping that in the future we can expand to include other Asian countries. So, Asia Open Forum: Republic of Korea" is the title and is on there, but the url isn't as specific. You could however go to korea.asiaopenforum.com and that would take you to the same page (the names just a bit long) Later if all goes well, we will include other countries.
Thank you for the advice, we will take it into consideration and see if there is a better way to attract people to the site. |
