|
|
I know it sounds like an oxymoron for an American to say this but I feel it is time for the US to stop interfering in world affairs.
The more the US keeps on interfering in international issues, the more stupid the nation looks on the world stage.
Believe it or not, it took me living 6 years outside my own country to realize how screwed up our foreign policy truly is and the further America and Americans continue down this path, the worse the situation can be for the country.
I don't think the US has the right to interfere in other nations' affairs since its own house is far from being in order;
~ Thousands of children either underinsured or who have to go without insurance for the greater good of the HMOs' profits.
~ Elderly people placed in substandard convalescent homes where people die every day from common illnesses such as bedsores
~ Where children are passed through an education system without even the knowledge of how to read and in some cases, how to write their own name.
~ Where disaster/ terror response aid is always politically connected without any say from the common people.
Cases in point; Hurricane Katrina and the mid-western floods last summer
In fact, I don't even think we would have a need for money for terror repsonse if the government changed the way it saw the world.
I had seen what happened to countries that tried to become massive superpowers; Spain, France and England and history showed us what happened to them in the end.
I feel the US is heading down that road soon and I really don't want to be here when it does happen and to be brutally honest, my response would be, "I told you so..." |

I second that.
And I will add.... Americas policies, the way it does things, the meddling in other countries affairs, the so-called "better than other country" attitude can't be blamed on anyone except YOU, the voters. You are the ones who elect these idiots to office...these same idiots who make the laws and policies.
And it won't change because the voters are dumb and won't change. |

Fully aware of what the swastika is and what the hammer and sickle is. My point is that I consider them equivalent evils. |

How can some of you criticize me for my avitar (and get it wrong the first time around) in a sorry attempt to hijack my thread.....
How can you confuse a swastika (traditionally a buddhist symbol twisted around for a country that has nothing to do with easern philosophy) with a hammer and sickle that represents a system that was impractical and failed, much like the way the US is going..
Before "trying" to hijack a thread and "try" to discredit someone, make sure you have your ducks in order....
Other than that
Take care and have a wonderful day |

No he wasn't, but it tends to represent many negative aspects of communism.
As for the OP, it is understandable to have these feelings but when the US doesn't get involved people complain just as much. It's a lose/lose situation (or loose/loose for many dave posters) almost every time. |
