Hi,
Just moved to Yongin in a quiet area, not much going on, haven't seen another foreigner yet, though I guess Suwon (YoungTong area, in the east of Suwon, is nearest I think) is near enough, like 20 minutes on bus. Gangnam is 45 minutes on bus. Anyone know any weekend spots other foreigners hang out? Thanks. |

Me too, but that's because the Suwon World Cup stadium is there.
However, the K-league finishes this Sunday and with the exception of the laughable Korean FA Cup... no more football until February/March |

sorry to say but .... yongin sucks! you will be promptly getting on a bus every weekend and coming to seoul. buses coming from yongin to kangnam encounter a lot of traffic on the weekends so that 45 minute travel time can easily morph into 1 1/2 hours. the yongin-suwon-bundang triangle provides very little to do. i worked in su-ji for 6 months. yuck! |

If you wait 4 or 5 years there should be Bundang line subway stops in Gugal, Shingal and Yong-Tong in Suwon |

I guess the whole Suji, Jukcheon, Guseong, Gugal, Shingal area might be a nice enough area once it's finished.
Now that I've moved away from there I don't really have any desire to move back there.
The best samgyeopsal restaurant in the whole of Korea is in Gugal though |

Hey I live in Suji and it isn't all that bad, you can usually get the bus directly from here to Hannamdong, on a sat nite and it only takes about 35mins, thats nothing to complain about, plus its cheaper to live out here so it kinda evens it out! |

And then it'll only take 4 or 5 hours to get into Seoul. That line is soooooooo long. |

I'm in Sang-gal, next to Shin gal, like 20 minutes' walk. Don't know where SongTan is. Yeah it's quiet and dull, but got a good apt. Hopefully it'll be easier to save (or harder to spend?) money here. Still got the bus to Suwon or Seoul I guess. (Don't mind the travel time - bring a book?) |
