| I am thinking about doing a three day hike through Jirisan over New Years and was wondering if anyone had any tips on what to bring, see on the trails.. etc.... Its not possible to reserve in one of the shelters online so I have to take my chances with that. Any advice? |

I'm also doing Jirisan, so if all the Jirisan experts are set to gather on this thread, could you also give me a few hints?
I hope the OP does't mind a thread semi-hijacking.
I only have time to get to the top, Cheonwangbong, and back, I'll have to do the 3 day thing next time. What is the trail like from Jungsan-ri to the top? A friend is undecided, depending on difficulty, the puff. Any yeogwan recommendations? Would it be best to catch a bus to Jinju, then a bus to Jungsan-ri?
Any other tips are appreciated, thanks in advance. |

When I went, I booked the shelter by telelphone, although it was a serious hassle. Some people at the national park office do speak English though. Or get a Korean co-worker to phone.
Shelters: you can rent a sleeping bag or blankets. Some food is there, like ramyeon and chocolate bars and soda but bring your own stove. |
