|
|
My friend has Korean citizenship, but live in the US 99% of his life (just never changed his citizenship...)
I know that for us E-2 and F-4 we need a 4 year degree to get a visa. Does a Korean citizen need a 4 year to teach at a hagwon?
Can experience teaching kids take the place of a degree?
Thanks!

| no. I'm sitting next to a KT at my hagwon who doesn't have any degree and; of course, she can barely speak english-e. Your friend can easily find a job at a hagwon. |

| I knew a 19 year old university student who taught at a hogwan. No degree, no blood test, no drug test and no back ground check needed. |

| Believe that Koreans must have completed 2 years of post high school study to teach at a Hagwon (ie started a degree but not finished!). But the pay for Korean teachers tends to suck, more hours less cash! |

News to me. I thought they just had to prove their Korean-ness to get an F4.

At a hagwon, all you need is to graduate high school. |

| I worked with a guy, swore he must have been in high school. Turns out he was out of high school and studying for college entrance exams. |

Legally, they need a degree to teach in a school or licenced hakwon.
Practically, since there is NO enforcement of the current regulations, laws or policies, hakwons have no problem just doing whatever they want in regard to hiring practices. |
