I am ending my contract early-we have agreed on a date and replacement. The wrinkle is that I would plan on spending more time here. Will by visa be cancelled? If so, can I just leave and come back on a tourist visa? I do not plan on working while I stay here. Any information regarding what my options are would be appreciated. |

How long are you talking about staying? The visa will normally be cancelled ... and you would then have a certain amount of time to leave ... Beyond that time one of the options would be leaving and coming back on a tourist visa ... |

If you or your boss go to immigration and notify them that you have quit you will have 30 days to exit the country.
You can return immediately on a tourist stamp.
You can apply for a new job and get a work visa after your return as long as you can meet the new requirements.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't sure if I needed to notify immigration or not. What happens if I don't notify immigration and the school does not notify them either? Does my current visa stay in effect? |
