If you like Bob Dylan's music or if you like art, you should see this.
This movie is something I will watch many times. It's surreal. Great music, and cinematography.

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead

I saw this today and think it's near perfect. No B.S, a great script, acting, and emotion.

P.s: forget "Saw 4" and "Death Sentence"

How long is "I'm Not There"? I watched a bit less than an hour on a movie site, figuring it was a short film ( listed at 58 mins) but it was cut off when some more action should have happened.

Edit: 2 hours 15 mins

Well, I watched I'm Not There, last night. I can't make my mind up about it.

It's a bit too enigmatic. Or trying to be anyway. I dunno. It doesn't work as a biography. I don't think it tried. Yet the re-enactments of some definitive Dylan moments were there. The 'Judas!' moment etc...

Some scenes were very well done and the music selection was bang on.

The casting was a little jarring. But only because they tried to use about 7 different actors for Dylan!

But it was all a bit of a jumble.

Thanks for the pointer towards "Before the devil knows you're dead"....

Awesome and I have always plugged Albert Finney as THE actor of the last 50 years. He does it again. Ethan Hawke...well he needs help but this movie doesn't. Excellent.

Yes I have been waiting for a good version of this.

About the Dylan flick. It reminded me of a painting, or a song. The audience can read into it what they want. Knowing about the artist makes the painting more interesting, and fascinating.

I will have to watch it a few times.

I've not seen I'm not there.. I can't decide if I want to. Read some reviews and what they say about it it isn't really my thing. I AM really looking forward to No Country for Old Men though...

Two Movies:
Once - Hardly much of a story but totally engaging and really touching. The music is fantastic and fits the mood of the film perfectly.

City Of God - I couldn't think of another recent one so this is an oldie, but its a goldie. Amazing story of kids in the slums in Brazil, totally shocking, but one of my top 10 of all time.

Agree on both counts there, City of God stuck with me for a long while. The music in Once is so real.

Saw 'City of God': damn, what a film, violent, casual killing, sometimes over trivial stuff. Like a gangster movie, but more real than most of those.

That's how I felt about it. I think I wanted it to be more than a biopic than it was. I came home and watched No Direction Home after seeing I'm Not There and felt like that was what I was looking for.

I do appreciate the film for what it is, though. There is so much of it that I really loved and so much of it that I expected to be different.

I am head over heels in love with this movie. It manages to break my heart every time I watch it...especially after learning what the girl says in Czech when asked if she loves her husband.

No thank you.

When I was in univesity I had the unpleasent experience of sharing an apartment with a hippie who used to play the Slob Dylan crap. Its not surprising that shortly after I got into Skinhead Oi.

"The Garbage Pail Kids Movie" was top notch, especially the musical interludes.

"Irreversible" has to be the most painful and excrutiating film I have ever watched (I couldn't watch the underpass scene). After it was over I sat in stunned silence thinking to myself, "what in the *beep* was that?!?" It was a good film, just a little too edgy for me.
