Anyone ever got a suit tailered over there?
I hear they are a relatively good deal compared to what one would pay in the states for a comparable garb.
What would be a decent price for a mid-range suit?
How long do they take to belt one out?
Any warnings?
Give it to me baby! |

I had a couple suits made a year ago. The price is much cheaper for Tailor made suits, than it is in the states. It about half the price, or so. The quality is pretty good, and they can pump it out in a couple days.
I will say if your looking to make a big pruchase, you're better off going to South East Asia. The price are dirt cheap, and if you shop around... you can get some excellent quality stuff. I found it much easier to get exactly what I wanted in Thailand, than it was in Korea.
If you need a suit quick, buy one here. If not, save your money and do a little traveling. I got 4 suits, 3 pairs of pants, 10 dress shirts, and an overcoat for about $500. Best of luck. |

If you want a 100% Wool suit you're going to have to shell out at least 250,000....unless you can find a bargain somewhere....
Wool-blends will cost less.... |

DJTwoTone, that is one heck of a deal you got there!
I usually pay between 200,000 and 250,000 for a 100% wool suit in Itaewon. Generally good quality but have had a couple mishaps.
They usually throw in a couple shirts and ties but I've found the quality of the shirts bad and the ties atrocious. |

Nightwing,
If you do go to Itaewon to have a suit tailored, check out a place called "Mode" before you commit to any other place. I have had several suits made there since 1995, and I have never had any problems (they are great people and do quality work).
Admittedly, you will be able to find cheaper places, but you will sacrifice on customer service and the quality of fabrics (selection is so important) and craftsmanship with some of the other establishments.
Having had suits tailored in both Thailand and Korea, though Thailand is cheaper, you definitely get what you pay for in the end.
Know what to look for in a fabric before you decide. |
