Hi, my contract states I am to get 20,000 extra won above 22 hours a week teaching (ps). So if my winter camp runs 40 hours of teaching a week shouldn't I get paid 20,000 times 18 hours? My school has a weird number they are paying me that is way way below this. |

If your with GEPIK, during vacation time the teaching hours are 20 a week. After 20 hours, you get overtime pay.
Who is your employer? |

if u are only contracted for 22 teaching hrs a week and they want u to teach 40 hrs a week, then u should get W360,000 extra a week in OT.
if they are only paying u W480,000 extra for 2 weeks, they are technically only paying u about W14,000/hr.
go talk to your main co-teacher, tell them that the number doesn't make sense since in your contract your OT rate is 20,000/hr for every hour over your normal 22. be polite, but remain firm. 40 teaching hrs a week for 2 weeks is a lot of work, and considering that W20,000/hr for OT isn't a good rate either, i would seriously re-consider doing it at all.
i would also have your contract, on hand, in case they refuse to listen. |

They are within their rights to ask you to do 20 hours a week during vacation. The rest of the vacation you can come in to the school and do nothing but plan ahead.
The contract says that the principal can expect you to do an extra 6 hours a week. If they want you to do 2 weeks at 40 hours teaching, then ask for an extra 2 weeks vacation.
Otherwise they should give you 400k OT each of the 2 weeks. Nice bonus cash, if you can handle it. They will want the same next vacation too.
Email or phone your Gepik coordinater, and they will contact the principal and tell him/her officially how to play ball. |

honestly, i would try to talk with your co-teacher first and work it out. koreans really hate it when you go above their heads before trying with them; there is a certain way of reporting issues and it is by going up through the ranks, not jumping ahead.
if your co-teacher doesn't listen, then talk to the coordinator |
