I'm living back in Canada now and am trying to locate a dark brown liquid herbal concoction that comes in a little clear plastic bag that originates from Korea. It's suppose to be good for hair loss, cold hands and feet and stomachache problems. Can anyone provide a link to where it can be purchased or even a name so I can try to locate it here. I don't think it's cheap either. Thanks. |

Doesn't Bacchus come in a glass bottle? This liquid would come in a little plastic bag. I would REALLY appreciate any help anyone could give. I don't know how it's marketed but maybe as something that would boost immunity and balance the liver. |

I believe it's marketed as 'BIG FAT PLACEBO'. |

There are many herbal liquids in a bag.
What I mean by this is that there are many different medicines that are dark brown and come in that packaging.
The general name for it is "han-yak". This basically means "Oriental Medicine", and come in the form of liquids, dark little balls, and also other raw herbs.
Different liquids supposedly do different things, so you'll need some more details on what you want. To give you a better idea, referring it to "a dark brown liquid in a plastic bag" is equivalent to saying "a white pill in a plastic bottle" in Canada.
I'm not sure where they sell it in Canada, though I've seen it in the U.S. My assumption is that there are Korean distributors in Canada, too. Your best bet is to try to contact the person who first gave it to you and then to go from there.
Now, as to whether this stuff works or not... it's a toss up.
I think as an herbal supplement, some may be beneficial. But I'm not sure if they are the "cure-all" as some Koreans may claim. Either way, your mileage may vary. Good luck. |

his post is right. you can go to an oriental doctor, have them diagnose you, and they will brew the stuff for you and put it in the plastic baggies. go to your nearest koreatown in canada, and look for "한의원"/한의사".
don't ask what the ingredients are.
usually, the treatment lasts a month (one plastic baggie in the morning, one plastic baggie at night). it cost me about $350 in the states, but in korea it's about 1/3 that.
it works, to some degree. tastes quite awful. |

I've seen a traditional Chinese doctor and he did give me a bunch of stuff to brew($50 for one week's worth). I just don't have time to do it every morning and every night so wanted to get the packets for mornings.
I'm going to the Korean grocery store in town tomorrow so I hope they have something in stock. I'm just looking for the prepackaged stuff(no need for them to brew and package for me). I will ask for the 한의원"/한의사 or hanyak. Actually what does 한의원"/한의사 translate to? Is it the general name of the liquid or a brand?
Thanks so much for your help kalkamagi and ramikera. |

한의원= oriental medicine clinic/hospital
한의사 = oriental medince doctor
한의약 = oriental medicine
i'm not sure if they have generic packages- they may have to diagnose you. you can just get a bunch of packages and freeze them for use over the week. gook luck. |

What you want is 고양이주 or 개소주. |

Thanks jazblanc. I googled 고양이주 and couldn't find any information. Is this the brand and product name(Goyang Eju)? When I googled 개소주 I found the packages but was wondering why most of the images had a dog in front of the packets?
Are you suggesting these as ones to try based on the symptoms I listed originally or these are just good ones to try for overall health. |
