The wife and I back in the US for vacation. Last week, we took the subway and at one stop, wouldn't you know it, one of those Christian Koreans gets on the car and says, "I have an announcement." I start thinking "here it comes." So the guy starts singing
OK, out on the street or even on the Seoul subway, this kind of thing happens. But in this situation, it was weird. The subway car, which was about half full, went from silence to this dude's ajosshi butchering of the song. You could tell it was only bothering everyone.
So midway through the song, a guy gets up, walks right in front of the ajosshi, and says, "Stop singing, please!" Ajosshi just ignores him and keeps on going. So the guy says, "Shut up! Stop singing!" He then walked back to his seat, shaking his head.
Ajosshi kept singing until the end of the song, at which point, he turns to the guy and angrily says, "You shut up." Then, in a cheery tone, he turns to the rest of us and says "Merry Christmas." OMG

Only a matter of time before he runs into someone who's not going to just use his mouth to express his dislike of inappropriate Christmas caroling. |

No impromptu Christmas caroling, but it did have three Korean Christians start up conversations with me about religion while shopping this weekend.
Why is it that Koreans assume that every White person is a Christian? I've even got a teacher at my public school who keeps trying to convert me.
I am through being polite. I told them: "I am not a Christian."
They were SHOCKED!
If they persist, I tell them, "I do not want to become a Christian."
Tough. |

He's going to say shut up one day to the wong guy. The US doesn't believe in blood money. Sucks to be him. |

It reminds me of the Korean adjossi who swear and threw punches at two Toronto cops, they kicked the living shit out of him. The Korean media made it sound like he was innocent and was minding his own business. But who is stumbling around downtown Toronto at 5:30am on a Sunday morning. One of his excuses was, he was going to church. Stinking of alcohol. |

Tell them now. It is better to get it over with quickly.
Some Koreans seem to expect a congratulatory response when they tell you that they are Christian. |

Reminds me of Borat.
I've always wanted to see an ajossi put his finger into a US cop's chest like they do the young cops in Seoul. That's a tazing or faceplant in the making. |

Of all the annoying things that occur on the subway, why is this one notable? I'd probably just have to reread one paragrah of my newspaper befor regaining my focus. |
