I seem to forget about Dave's until I'm on a break from school...

Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
A.A. Bondy - American Hearts
The White Stripes - Icky Thump (I'm a Detroiter, I have to love this album - and it is such a vast improvement over Get Behind Me Satan)

The Pipettes - We Are the Pipettes (I'm totally cheating on this one because the UK album was released in 2006 - but it has been a favorite for two years now and it was released in the States this year)

...and once I can come up with a good list, a Most Overrated Albums of 2007 thread needs to happen.

Icky Thump was excellent.. As for the most overrated of the year, I'm going with the Radiohead release. It was totally average.

Both that and Arcade Fire were certainly going on my list. Best Album By A Well Known Band Released in a Unique Way? Yes, you can have that award, Radiohead. However, it doesn't automatically make it a great record.

We are going to have to 100% disagree on Arcade Fire. They got me back into really following and appreciating music after a 3-4 year break. And they are based out of my favorite city (which matters for some reason).
