No idea where Bonghwasan is, so this might not help. There is a Homever at Yatap Subway (Yellow Bundang line). Come up out of the subway. Homever is upstairs (big sign on the top of the building) from the Yatap bus terminal.
Also, try Costco. I got a couch that folds into a bed for W300,000. Good price and a good couch.
Edited for color.

Merry Christmas! There's a Homever equidistant between Hagye station and Junggye station which are both just north of Taerung. If you go to Hagye, take the north exit on the right side of the street and walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes. It'll be off to the right on a side street. Can't miss it. Can't vouch for what kind of sofas they have, but good luck! |

Also, one building over (100 yards) from the Hagye Homever is a 2002 Outlet. It is a tall building with a dept. store set-up. They have an entire floor of furniture. |

HapKi, do you mean 2001 outlet? we popped in after homever today, but only saw some clothes boutiques on the ground floor, and a world's gym fitness center on the second floor...we didnt go up further because it looked closed, and we didnt go in the basement because it looked like it was just a restaurant... do you recall what floor the furniture is on? any help is greatly appreciated! thanks |

2001, that's it. It's at the other end of the block from Homever. It's your typical Korean Dept. Store, but a little cheaper and a step down from the big ones like Lotte. All cubicles with the different brand names. Escalators in the middle, elevators in the corner. 8 floors or so, I'd say furniture is 5 or six. One of the top floors has a nice conveyor belt sushi bar. |

If you haven't already purchased your couch, I would look into some of the small Korean furniture shops. I believe that there are plenty of them between Taerung and Mokgol Stations. They normally have wooden bookcase on the outside of them, and then all the furniture inside. They may not have the couch that you are looking for, but then they also have books for you to look through. Baring that, across the main street from Homever, Hagye location, and one small street further down, you will see a department store called Omni, on the 2-3 floors, there are PLENTY of furniture shop stands.
Let me know if you need clearer direction to Omni, as I believe this would be your best bet for a couch. |

Actually, if you're at the Homever near Hagye, you might be better off going to the furniture store not too far from there. Several floors, and a TON of selection.
If you're at Homever, go out the doors that lead to a park (same side as the Dunkin' Donuts that's between Homever and 2001). Go through the park and then cross the large road (I think there's bridge over the road in the center of the park). Walk through the park on the other side, and go to the large building on your left. It's an old, crappy looking building, with a lousy cinema in the basement. Can't remember which floor the furniture starts on, but there are several floors of only furniture. Lots of selection. ALMOST bought a LazyBoy reclining sofa there a few years ago...
Good luck! |
