Because my co-teacher won't be there.

Actually, I like the fact I can relax more than usual.

I also appreciate the students because camps feel informal.

I also like behaving like a total idiot more often during camps.

My co-teacher told me in March, the Principal will decide who will be the

school's English teacher for the next year.

I sincerely hope it is not her. Today, I left school early

to pay my monthly bills. Last month, my co-teacher

was unhappy about the idea of me leaving school to pay the bills at

3.45pm. She felt it was too early.

I explained to her during summer camp the P. let me

go at 3.45pm.

Anyway, today I approach the P. via a person I know

that works in the V.P.'s office.

He has helped me out before with this. So, today I

asked him to ask the P. for a specific time I should leave to

pay the bills.

The P. said anytime I want, as long as I'd finished my work, which I

had. That was around 3.20pm.

I returned to my office and ushered my co-teacher to come over for

a minute. I explained to her what had happened, and advised her I was

going to pay my bills, that was around 3.30pm. I said I was telling her

this because I didn't want her to feel concerned about where I was, if she

wanted to find me.

I know if it was up to her she would want me to leave later than 3.30pm,

so I knew she was 'powerless' over this, and couldn't argue with

the P's decision. I felt quite happy to illustrate to her how quite

irrelevant she is in some ways. I'm so glad the P. finds my co-teacher

irritating too.

i like winter camps, not just because i don't have to deal with my co-teachers, but because my office is EMPTY, hell, the school is empty. it's so nice to have complete peace and quiet in the office.
i share with 3 other teachers: my fave co-teacher, and 2 head teachers, and then we have a billion kids coming in during break, lunch, before and after school, and honestly, it bugs me. i've tried talking to them, but they just giggle and stare at me, some of them stand behind me "reading" over my shoulder...i try to talk to them...nothing. Confused

i stand firm: best thing is PEACE AND QUIET for 4 hours after u finish your camp for the day. only thing better would be going home early Very Happy

In GEPIK we're not real teachers in real classes yet we're magically real teachers in overtime/camp/after school classes. Not Real Teachers need coteachers. Magically Real Teachers don't.

Someone needs to make a GEPIK Klogic Handbook.

This always confused me as well. I was told that I am not supposed to discipline and such, what if a fight broke out, or a student got injured during the camp? Am I supposed to just chill out and play some online euchre? Maybe the parents have to sign waivers or something before their kid can go to the camp. My school is actually throwing around the idea of my doing a fieldtrip camp where the students and I go around to different attractions in Seoul and the kids just hang out with me/ be my tour guides!

Really? Are we all supposed to have co-teachers in public school?
My husband and I are at the same PS, and we haven't ever had one. No one has even come into our classes to watch. Totally on our own. They have never even given us suggestions on what or how to teach.
Just though that was the way it goes.

Done that before and it worked really well. Has to be a small group though 10 students or so.
