I can't believe I've lived here so long and I still don't know this. What are the different cycles on the Korean washing machines? Which one is delicate?

Now, can you give me any tricks on how to keep my pants and long sleeve shirts from braiding together into one tight rope by the end of the wash?

I've been told that putting in some kind of hollow plastic ball agitator helps with this. Though I've never seen it first hand.

And while we're on the subject, what is the song the washing machine sings when it is finished?

Does yours have four cycles?

1) Soapy water cycle. Half heartedly swishes the clothes around for about 4 minutes in the soapy water and then dumps it.

2) 10 minute rinse cycle.

3) Hey another 10 minute rinse cycle.

4) Spin cycle.

Mine is wash, rinse, spin, then rinse and spin again.

I used to use those little agitator ball thingies and they didn't work. They'd just get sucked up in your pants legs or sleeves or tangled in anything else. I never have understood why the washing machines here don't have that agitator in the middle like at home.

You have to buy the laundry bags and put the pants in those.

Korean washing machines don't have the big stump thing in the middle, which prevents clothes from tying up in knots. My friend said that Koreans believe this device beats up the clothes too much. Crazy. I'd rather have pants that weren't tied-up and wrinkled all to heck.
