Catchy!
/Edited title to reflect the fact that the song was made in South Korea rather than North Korea, as per the info below.

Judging by the lyrics, I would say that's a South Korean song, not North Korean. |

The sad thing is that's about the best piece of Korean-made music I've ever heard. |

The song was actually written by a South Korean.
"F"cking USA", often called "F"ck'n USA", is a protest song written by South Korean singer and activist Yoon Min-suk. Strongly anti-American, the song was written in 2002 at a time when, following the Apolo Ohno Olympic controversy and an incident in which two Korean middle school students were killed by a U.S. Army vehicle, anti-American sentiment in South Korea reached high levels.
Later a music video, supposedly created by North Koreans in the South, was broadcast on a South Korean news program, where it was picked up by Rob Pongi and subsequently rebroadcast on the show's website along with Japanese and English subtitles, enabling it to spread worldwide. The version of the song in the video has been remixed and opens with caricatures of U.S. President George W. Bush taunting Koreans, while chants of "부시악" ("Pushi Ak" or "Bush Evil") echo in the background. It displays a slideshow of Korean political cartoons attacking U.S. foreign policy, ending abruptly on the line "Yankee Go Home!", with an animation of the Statue of Liberty exploding.
The video has developed a minor cult status in the West, where it has been shown on comedy shows such as Tarrant on TV.

I like how the only specific claim they make is in reference to the Ono gold medal thing. Geez. |

I like the name Rob Pongi. I thought many people here hated Tokyo. When I lived there, I wasn't exactly fond of the "Six Root Trees" district. I found Shibuya more to my liking. |

I'd like to personally apologize on behalf of my fellow Americans for stealing the gold medal in the Nagoya Olympics. Yes, I will break the silence. There was a flyer sent out to everybody's mailbox asking us to check which country we could get away with screwing over. Boyohboy, did we underestimate these Koreans! Wow, we had no idea people on the internet could be so powerful! You see, in our country we ignore the ravings of dorks on the internet. We've learned our lesson, Yankee going home. |

I was living in Seoul at the time this song came out and heard it more than once. It's the real thing, though I didn't know there was a video until now. Pleasant stuff, huh? |

Why does that video say that Koreans are scared to say what they want? They made that song didn't they? Is there more they are holding back cuz they are scared of military retaliation? |

Yeah, Koreans thinking Bush looks like a monkey is indeed funny. Darwin would have had a field day in this planet of the apes country. (How can Korean Christians believe the creationist krap they push on the subways? Don't they own mirrors?) |

Must agree that Koreans - with their squatting, spitting, staring, bumping, bone structure etc. - are in no position to be calling other people 'monkeys'. But the George Bush comment reminded me of an anti-Bush video put to the Rolling Stones' excellent (but generally unknown) song 'Monkey Man.' Enjoy.

Well, when you can only excel at one Olympic Winter sport, I suppose it becomes the focus of your concerns. Talk about massive insecurity!
Typical sophomoric, jingoistic rubbish.
But I agree with the video's recommendation:
I think we should pack it up and go home. South Koreans no longer deserve our support, militarily and financially (imagine the burden on their economy if they had to absorb the entire cost of their own defense).
Then let them Mr. Sunshine in Pyongyang however they wish. |
