You actually got up and moved to different rooms. Odd, but I suppose it would keep people who are on the fence from jumping from group to group based on who needed support.

Check the Rep Caucus thread for an humorous anecdote about attending a Dem caucus in Iowa.

As for a party platform, how about...

1. stop being pus.sies and fight for what you say you believe in. balls up ladies and gents, balls up.

2. universal healthcare, hopefully along the Canadian/English system, none of this watered down crap. sorry, obama, i break with you there.

3. withdraw from iraq sooner than later, but try not to screw it up anymore than it already is. let the generals do their jobs as none of you leaders have any recent military experience.

4. nancy pelosi is kicked out of the party. that witch is a screw up.

5. more taxes on the rich, less taxes on the poor. streamline the beauracracy, don't just tax and spend, spend smart. the reps aren't fiscally conservative anymore, now's the dem's chance to take up that mantle, and still be able to spend money on appropriate social programs.

6. cut the pork barrel crap. see point 5.

7. legalize drugs, or at least marijuana.

8. stop the idealogical wars. and avoid harmful rhetoric as much as possible. they're people, not sheep, no matter how much the baa.

9. out with no child left behind. start paying teachers a wage that is more appropriate with the investment of time it took to become one. at least 40k a year, starting. that would shut the union up.

10. speaking of unions, how about we stop breaking them. lets remember that a worker with a stake in the company is a better worker. promote a co-op system, it's the way of the future.

If I understand Czar, that means only two delegates go on to the county convention, each representing 4 votes. (This is different from when I attended back in the 80's. Times change.)

Yeah, the caucus rules are convoluted and get tweaked on a far too regular basis. I was talking to my Dad, I'm staying at his house so I'll caucus with him, and at the last caucus the people 'running' it didn't even know how to calculate the votes and assign delegates/numbers. I'll report in after the caucus to let you know how it went here.

If the candidates (and awareness of them) were burger places. Clinton is clearly McDonalds, Obama is Burger King, Edwards is Wendys, and Richardson would be the equivalent to California's In-and-Out Buger - very regional and if you know it, you'll love it, if you don't know, you just stick with your McD's and BK's generally.
