Dear Foreign Teacher,
I don't know you. I have probably never spoken with you. Sadly, you have cost me an extended winter vacation. It seems my predecessor shared some information about our vacation time which made you indignant enough to share it with someone in some position of power. This brought shame upon my higher ups, and so they needed to fix the problem. The easiest way was to revoke my extended vacation. So, thank you for killing my extended vacation time. I now look forward to staring at the wall for a few extra weeks. |

I have a thank you as well.
Thank you to the NZ teacher who was working an after school program with the same company as me, requested his pay weekly (and was granted), then right before Xmas, went to the bank and took out 3 million of the company's money, and skipped the country.
Because of your dishonesty, my Korean co-teacher lost her job, as the boss can't afford to keep her anymore. BTW, she is a single mom and she got her child support cut off recently by her petty ex-husband. |

It makes perfect sense. You sign a contract for X amount of hours and X pay, and X benefits. She gives it all to you, exactly as the contract states. That is honest.

I can see where your bias lies, but let me get this straight:
The Kiwi in question took 3mil...what you fail to say is how much of that money was actually his. I assume some of it was or else why would they put that much money into an account he had access to?
I find it absurd that any employer would have the bank "broken" due to a 3mil won withdrawal. How much was your boss paying said co-teacher if 3mil seemed to have "bankrupted" him? Seriously, there is more to this story than said single mother is letting on. Perhaps she got blamed for the incident and got fired. But not being able to afford her reaks of BS as a reason for the termination of employment.
Why bring in the single mom and ex-husband thing? That isn't said Kiwi's fault. It just adds more to your bias on the issue. If anything, blame the guy who fired her...or blame the deadbeat dad for not ponying up on the cash.
In other news: rule #1 is never trust a Kiwi with money that isn't theirs, as their very nature is to be cheap, Scrooge like individuals. (This is just based on personal experiences working with people from NZ - if you are a Kiwi that doesn't fit this category, perhaps you should tell people you are Australian!) |

WTF? Kiwis cheap? I've met several Americans over here who constantly try to duck out of chipping in for taxis, meals etc. Not to mention walking out of Korean bars and restaurants without paying and then trying to argue their way out of it with the poor Korean staff. Just goes to show the stupidity of stereotyping based on a few personal experiences, eh?  |
