I've been a member since May and apparently I still don't have enough posts to private message anyone.
What's with that?!

I know that Dave and the 'Mods' are free to do whatever they choose in this forum and make up any insane rule they want but how about making this site a little more user friendly?

I've seen quite a few posters getting around this by posting their email in the forums to people they want to contact BUT what if I don't want every Tom Dick & Harry having my email address?????

Please DAVE, change this rule so we can message others using this site as a safe medium!!!

Thanks~

oops!

The question should've read..... "Do you want Dave to change this rule so that you can PM people no matter how many posts you have?"

Don't criticize, just vote~

YUP - I've got lots of stuff to sell and I want to use the PM feature, but I now have to randomly post to all of these messages just so I can activate the PM feature - LAME!

the PMs are a privilege extended to Dave's POSTERS

not any yahoo who shows up and impatiently wants to sell something or contact someone

a 25 post rule is reasonable

Nah not reasonable....just another way to control people in your own way.

You should really look at the REGULAR posters on this site who constantly harass others and 'mod' those "YAHOOS"

Lots of people out here just want to contact people and post without revealing their emails to every "Yahoo" out here.....

It's not the mods.

It's the posters who have been the recipients of obscene spam.

are you serious? you've been here for more than 6 months and still no 25 posts? Venus wracked up that much in one day writing "thats what SHE said" on every f'ing topic. If you really want to be able to pm just comment on everything in the off-topic section, people say enough stupid stuff on dave's without as good of a reason as needing to make it to 25.

Well there should be another way to get rid of those "spammers" without the rule.

One example is take for instance FACEBOOK....

If you are "spamming" people they disable your acct temporarily.

I'm sure that they could easily put something into place like that here.

I'm just saying, it's unreasonable to have to wait.

This is a swear filter dodge, a violation of terms of agreement, and has resulted in a temporary BAN for repeat offenders. So if you wanna get banned keep it up.

It's a good rule and it's there for a valid reason.

why can't she say "bathing"? as this thread will help cleanse her of her anguish. just becasue she mistakenly typed a few asterisks doesn't merit anything. 18 posts for her. 7 more to go.
