| The lawyer may be legit, but he is still a twat. I regularly hang out with Korean lawyers and not only are they all very bright guys, but they seem to be able to take the nationalistic blinders off when needed. |

| Yeah, the lawyer seems a bit gungho about the new policy. I think he's just sucking up to the Justice Ministry because it hired him. Oh well, let's see just how things go (or not) after the rule takes effect. And I'm sure they'll be many pissed teachers if the move is lifted (which is not out of reach). |

Sorry, simply showing admittance to a university is not proof one is a lawyer anymore than having attended medical school makes you a doctor. |

I actually agree with the need for the new regs. I don't agree with the manner in which they have been implemented or the ambiguity of the process. I also take great personal affront to the MOJ's slanderous comments regarding E2 visa holders. I'm curious as to how the Korean Human Rights Commission would view all this.  |

It's been an extremely discriminatory manner in which this law has been implemented. It targets a specfic group of people, and there is no eqaulity or consistency in the basic nature of the regulation. Not requiring the same tests for Koreans, as for non-Koreans is probably the basis of a violation of International Human Rights, in some form or another.
The soloution is to require ALL teachers (Korean and non-Korean, Nationals and Foreigners) to meet the same requirements.
It's fairly obvious where the seeds of resentment, and the basis for arguing the legitimacy of the new laws come from. They are by nature unjust.
It is yet another example of covert Korean racism. It is typically so subtle, that unless you're in the minority, the obvious implications of persecution and discrimination is easy to ignore. |
