Ok, I have searched through the 10+ pages of archives for a link to a supplier with GPS maps for pocket pc's/pda's. I noticed one website, inavi.co.kr , but they did not have an English button. Has anyone downloaded maps for their pocket pc off this site? If not, I could cobble together some Google maps to get by, but if I could just buy a countrywide set, I would be happier...

Thanks,
tdk/Dustin

Inavi is one of the top GPS names in Korea.

You can purchase the software for PDA from them directly, but not in English.

Yeah, INAVI maps only come in Korean.
Do you read Korean? If so, I can recommend a couple of good pieces of software to purchase.

If you want an English one, it may be difficult to get one from a Korean distributor. But your mileage may vary.

Good luck.

No, I do not read Korean, so I might have to go with the Google maps and GPS Tuner software for my fix.

Thanks,
Dustin

I have a question for you...

What software do you use for the English map?
You said Google maps? And a GPS tuner?
Is it freeware or commercial?
I'd like to look into English software, too.
Is it only for Korea? Or does it work in the States, too?

(I started using GPS on my PDA after arriving in Korea, so I'm not familiar with English GPS programs for Pocket PC.)

Thanks! =)

I have a HP RX5915. It comes standard with TomTom software and an integral GPS receiver. I installed "GPS tuner", a neat program that allows the inboard receiver to work like a Garmin unit or something similar. It gives altitude, speed, bearing, duration of trip, etc. You can create and import maps from Googlemaps or Terraserver. The software is free to try, but it costs about 24 USD after the 14 trial service.

I will be arriving March 08 to teach in the GWD province, so I am trying to find a good set of maps for this province and others as well. I might have to check with the SK supplier for a set.

Has anyone used this before?

The software costs $22.46 and a map of SK is 4 bux...not too bad of a price. I am thinking about trying the trial version in the US. Sooooo, would someone try the SK map/version and give a report?

Any takers?
