Not sure if it's actually "Mel and Syd" or "Syd and Mel" but there's an Aussie-themed restaurant in Itaewon by this name. If you go there I'd strongly recommend against getting the meat pie. For 13,000won I got a crappy supermarket pie and a small serving of over-salted McDonalds type french fries. I had been hoping for some decent thick cut chips and a chunky steak pie for that price, but got a budget mince pie that probably cost about $1.
Friendly service though. |

I've heard pretty bad things about the place as well. |

Is that the one on the second floor back in the Alley where there is a bar as soon as you walk in? I thought it was a little over priced, but the Koreans working there were friendly and accommodating to me.
I went to another Aussie restaurant in Itaewon kinda up on a hill in a tiny corner store space and it was good food, but the Aussie man was not very friendly, probably because I'm not an Aussie. I just thought it would be cool to see what Australian food is like since Australia is a long ways from home so I ate at both places last Summer. Really, it's very English or western style and can be very tasty compared to your average Korean restaurant. |
