I'm up for an interview here. Does anyone have a scoop on this place? Good or bad? I've read good things about Jinju in general, but I can't find any info on teaching for the air force there. Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

He is very compassionate, loves Radiohead, too.

They seem to post an ad every 4 or 5 months. Not sure why this is. jinJu City is a town of approx 350,000. I loved living there.

Thanks. The prevailing opinion is that Jinju is a good place to be. Still wondering about the academy itself, though. Any info? Who is this "he" who is compassionate and likes Radiohead?

bippity is making a joke; one of the posters around here uses 'jinju' for a name and is rather caustic.

The last I knew, that school had 3 foreign teachers. They seem to be unable to keep teachers for a long time.

Maybe one of them will come in and explain why.

I just spent New Year's in Jinju. So I can say at the very least that it seems like a nice place to live.

A few years ago, I had a friend who worked there, and he renewed his contract and his finance joined him the following year. They both enjoyed the job.

The base is quite some distance from Jinju though, and the buses are infrequent. Apart from the teachers with their special passes, only military personnel were allowed on the base too. My friends were fine because they had each other for company and even more importantly had a car, but if I was young and/or single I wouldn't consider working there. It's just too far away from Jinju, and you can't bring anyone home. But then if you want a huge social life, you probably shouldn't choose nice, pretty, but sleepy Jinju anyway.

But I left 4 years ago, things may have changed since then.

The buses come every half hour.

That's true, what he says about people not coming on the base. You'll never be able to bring a friend over, unless they work there. If you have family come visit, you'll be able to get them a pass to come on the base.
