What do you think about my last post above?

I think hiding out with a heretofore unheard of tribe in the wilds of Borneo sounds like a good plan in this world threatened by lizard armies from other planets who live underground and seek to control our world. Seeing that they seem to be living in the deserts of New Mexico, Borneo would probably be less appealing to them and you will be safe...for a while.

My plans are now altered. But mysteriously. Noone will know what I will do.

He-he.

Did you see Buzz punch that guy in the face? Scroll back up and check it. Classic.

(lizard armies definitely freak me out)

As well they should. The thought of forced matings between us mammals and lizards is beyond bestiality. Those lizards must have some truly sick minds to think that one up.

I think you are wise to not announce just where you are hiding out. The CIA reads all our posts here at Dave's (They look for key words and who more than English teachers uses key words?) I would advise against Costa Rica, just in case you are thinking of that place. The real Jurassic Park is there and has close ties with the lizard people. I was surprised they let Crichton set his novel there, but that is probably a case of hiding in plain site. After all, if he says it is there, then people will think 'It can't be there', so therefore that is the best place to put it. Follow?

I never actually saw the whole video of the punch. I saw a photo taken from it. I never wanted to watch the real thing because I felt so bad for the guy. Aldrin, Armstrong and the rest risked their lives in one of the great adventures in history and then to have some idiots claim you did it all on a sound stage to con the public...Disgusting.

Actually, the thread author makes a good point ... we're ALL paying too much attention to conspiracy theories, whether we think they're bunkum or not.

Let's all get back to current events.

You just don't get it, do you?

There is one thing I DO get.

You posted a whole slew of new posts on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Which is when most people are either spending time with their families or out partying with their friends.

Conclusion: you have no life, probably no friends, and live in your mother's basement.

Disinformation is deliberately misleading information announced publicly or leaked by a government, intelligence agency, corporation or other ENTITY for the purpose of influencing opinions or perceptions.

A group might plant disinformation in reports, in press releases, in public statements or in practically any other routine, occasional or unusual communique. Disinformation can also be leaked, or covertly released to a source who can be trusted to repeat the false information.

A common disinformation tactic is to mix truth, half-truths, and lies. Disinformants sometimes seek to gain the confidence of their audience through emotional appeals or by using semi-neutral language interlaced with threads of disinformation.

"Disinformation is a fact of life in politics. Those who practice politics for a living call it "spin." Honest people call it lying through your teeth."

And there is nothing to say that disinformation can't be practiced by individuals as well: individuals with an agenda, a neurotic fixation, or individuals hoping to make a profit off the gullible. There is no reason to distinguish disinformation generated by said individuals as being less damaging or more acceptable than disinformation generated by organizations.

I hear you. These men should be celebrated until they leave us, which they unfortunately soon will. Instead, in their old age, they have to be accosted by schmucks with video cameras telling them that they are liars and cowards.

Sad. (But still good on Buzz for wacking that big pussbag in the chops. That chooch really had it coming).

IMPORTANT EDIT:

We are losing the battle to the tinfoil hat forces. Check this forum. We are being overrun.

Will Ron Paul Be Excluded From Sunday's Debate?
There seems to be a debate going on between Fox News and New Hampshire Republicans over precisely who will participate in this weekend's presidential debate.

Rumor has it that online fundraising sensation and Texas congressman Ron Paul and San Diego congressman Duncan Hunter will be excluded because their N.H. poll numbers are not in double digits, although Paul's fourth quarter fundraising numbers were way into double digits, nearing $20 million, according to his website. In the first 240 minutes of the new year, nearly $11,000 more came in.

Over the weekend a Fox News spokeswoman told Top of the Ticket that the New Hampshire Republican Party was making the choice of candidates to participate in the televised GOP presidential debate on Jan. 6 with Chris Wallace moderating. She even provided the chairman's e-mail: [email protected] to confirm that.

Alas, the chairman never responded to us.

Then, on Monday, that state party chair, Fergus Cullen, issued a statement saying that limiting candidates was not in the party's tradition, suggesting the media should not be in the ... business of excluding serious candidates and talks were continuing with Fox.

So whose decision is it?

Understandably, neither side apparently wants to incur the online wrath of Paul's passionate parishioners, who scour the Internet around the clock and descend like locusts on any opportunity to praise Paul or right perceived wrongs on any website or blog they can find.

If word got out that Fox/News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch's e-mail was [email protected], his mailbox would be full in a flash.

MORE ... Confused

I strongly agree with this. One of the points Michael Barkun made in "A Culture of Conspiracy: Apocalyptic Visions in Contemporary America" (the book that my list of 'choices' came from) was that since the 60's conspiracy theories have begun seeping out of the cracks in our culture into mainstream dialog. I find it disturbing.

The first time I had a run in with it was years ago when students watched von Daniken's (sp?) "Chariots of the Gods" crap on cable TV. The sad truth is, many gullible kids are exposed to flashy movies and books and are influenced by the pizzazz of nifty special effects, chopped logic, disinformation, half truths etc. before they are armed with education which equips them to identify when they are being had. I think we are seeing the effects of it on this forum.

The cynicism that results from suspicion of everything is bleeding into politics and is damaging society. There is a vast world of difference between the healthy skepticism of the Enlightenment and chronic suspicion of every word and deed in every sphere. People who cannot see that for themselves probably shouldn't have unsupervised access to the internet or sharp objects.
