no, that doesn't quite cut it. i wasn't necessarily talking about similarly sized guys and girls. if a small guy hits a big guy, it's okay for the big guy to hit him back. if a big girl (who is obviously stronger than her target) hits a smaller guy, then it's not okay to hit her back.
again, for the record, i don't think i could hit the girl back either. but i can't justify not doing it.

also, as my question was about hitting a girl back, is it any more right for the girl to have hit the guy in the first place, knowing that he wasn't going to hit her back because that wouldn't be 'right'?

once again i'd like to point out that the question i'm asking is a hypothetical one and not exclusive to buddy bradley's situation.

because, you just don't do it, it is not the done thing for a boy to hit a girl in any situation. just yesterday i threw someone, a 10 ten year old boy, out of class for hitting a girl.

doesn't matter if the girl is like firkin king kong and the boy is mr. wimpy himself, you just don't do it. i dunno why, you just don't. because, because, you're a boy and she's a girl. there is no reason as such, you just don't do it! because 99% of the time the girl is weaker than the male. because, because of all the above! you just don't it!

At my first hagwon there was a girl who was King Kong and 16. After the break I went to my class (which she wasn't in) and a 13 year old small and mild-mannered boy was sitting with his head on his desk crying and in so much pain that he couldn't even answer my question about what was wrong. The girl had kicked him in the nuts. I wish this boy and his friends had tackled the giant and showed her that this is not an acceptable way to treat anyone.

I once read somewhere that Israel has one of the lowest rates of domestic violence. Think it's because the women get the same combat training?

maybe when other people are trying to kill you, you really can't worry about killing each other?

This is from the gay sex columnist, Dan Savage. I think that his stats are from the U.S., but this does reflect the U.S. reality. Why do women get annoyed at being agressively pursued? Read:

Quote:
Well, uh, yes: Women sometimes act like assholes when they get dumped, and some engage in bad, bad, bad behavior. So perhaps my generalization was a bit of a generalization, WGPTM. But unlike men, women--however pesky they are--rarely kill their partners. Almost half of all women who are murdered are killed by their husbands or boyfriends; women are 10 times likelier to be abused by a man than a man is to be abused by a woman (insert your own David Gest joke here); and more women land in emergency rooms due to domestic violence than from any other cause.

So, yeah: Women can be real bitches. But like I told GRABASS, male-on-female groping exists in a context of male-on-female violence, a context that makes male-on-female groping seem like less fun than female-on-male groping. I stand by that statement, WGPTM, with the important caveat that, yeah, some women sure are crazy-ass bitches.

Beating women isn't kosher.

hey buddy bradley, i'm a traveller at heart and always will be. a traveller has to enjoy and be open to new things and experiences. i just wouldn't class hitting a female as a new thing or experience i would like to associate myself with.

not one inclined to ask questions, are you? you must make one hell... er... heck of a christian.

i don't think anyone should hit anyone else. but i also don't believe that a person's reproductive organs should make them above being hit back.

Got to disagree. I'm not talking slaps or anything like that, but if a woman punches me with a fist it's go time. You want to fight like a man? Get ready to get beat like a man.

ETA: That doesn't excuse the sad specimen that is Buddy Bradley. He deserved that punch, every inch of it.

You know what I love about Hank? He isn't afraid to say the things many people think would be inappropriate, even though they might really be thinking it.

My confidence is shattered. Why? Here's why...

Hongdae, Saturday night. The street with me stumbling around in it. I spot three foreign girls. I walk up between two of them, put my arms around them and say "Ladies ladies ladies!", when one of them spins around and punches me. In fact, she dropped me. I was lying in the road like a pair of soggy bull balls. The three characters calmly walked off. If I wasn't so wasted I would have punched that cow back. So if any of you three monsters are reading this, I hope that you can take a punch. Because next time I'll fight back. Like a G.I. Joe.

Did anyone from Daves step forward?
