Hello,

Anyone know where I can get my PSP hacked. I would like to play PSX games and use .pdf files.

The firmware version you choose will depend on what your new psp currently has. Is it a fat or slim? If it's a fat, go for the 3.71M33-4 with 1.50 add-on. Do a bit of reading first, and pm me if you need any help.

Word to the wise. Be careful of what you may get in Yongsan. A friend of mine's psp had some pretty nasty viruses placed on it from one of the vendors there. Not sure if the guy did it knowingly or just quickly, without having the sense to scan for viruses first.

denverdeath, do you know if any of these tutorials apply to the new PSP slim & lite?

I got one for Christmas and from what I can tell, the slims can't be downgraded by the usual methods and require something called a "Pandora Battery and Magic /Jigstick memory card".

I was hoping to just bring it to someone in Korea to get it modded when I arrive in March but I certainly don't want anything nasty happening to it....

What say you?

It's not that difficult to do the pandora battery way as long as you have(you have a friend who has) another, modded, psp.

And, that friend's virus issue wasn't THAT bad. He didn't want to upgrade the firmware, so he was left with a system that could only have it's memory card accessed through the recovery menu, but it was virus free then anyway.

I have firmware 3.71 though and I was under the impression that I couldn't downgrade without a Pandora's battery.

Nice thread boys and girls.

Keep the 'unlocked' secrets of the PSP coming. Being somewhat computer illiterate, I'm in the market for a slim.

I ended up modding mine last week. Was fairly easy. But I had an old one with old firmware that I bought last time I was in the states.(summer of 05) I imagine if I had a newer firmware I would have kept at it till I figured it out. I can be stubburn that way.

I got a 4gb memory card off a Korean site for 31,000 with shipping. It was sandisk and works very well. I have been playing Warriors of the Lost Empire. Any way good luck with getting it modded.

Where are you guys buying your memory cards?

I found the base PSP slims for 180,000 but with the added 8mb it came to 335,000.

Modding is the same as adding the firmware? Or is modding making it region free?

My next question would be to find a store that sells the accessories - hardcase, game holder, headphones, car charger, etc. Maybe this is another thread.
