The next government plans to loosen regulations on foreign professionals entering the country, including giving residency rights to foreign investors.
The measure is part of the incoming administration's program to give advantages to foreign professionals willing to work in Korea.
Briefing members of the presidential transition team on the program on Sunday, officials of the Justice Ministry said residency rights will be also given to technicians with state-of-the-art skills.

So rich men who do a lot of cocaine and sleep with a lot of women are cool? Oh yeah, they are giving money to Korea.
[I know, I know, blanket stereotype. But good for Korea not being racist against ALL foreigners.] |

I wouldn't call it racist, just the laws of supply and demand.
In the US your chance of getting a green card increase substantially if you are a cutting edge Nuclear Physicist. A dish washer frankly doesn't have good prospects (unless a refugee).
Also most countries like business migrants. Better to import rich people than poor ones.
It's countries with questionable policies like Australia, Canada, and the US that allow so many illiterate poor migrants. |

Yes. Supply and demand. Chinese teachers get US visas & green cards...because of demand. What's your point? |

Don't generalize or make assumptions about the USA. Are you even American?
When I lived there, I had a neighbor from Bosnia. He studied exactly that! Guess what he did? He was a janitor in the USA.
Couldn't get a job. Spoke English very well.
He was treated the same as the other janitors. |
