I know a GEPIK teacher who makes 2.1. Every month that person is paid by three or four different deposits. The total is always more than 2.1. Then someone from the school asked them to bring back the overage in cash. In October they had to repay 800,000 in cash. What is going on? Is someone trying to cheat them or the school out of money? |

Had a friend who was caught up in the same thing until he told the boss he wasn't going to do it anymore. The boss your friend works for is doing some kind of private contract for teaching and they are transferring the money into your account because (a) they may have filed for bankruptcy in the past and are without options for banking, or (b) cheating on their taxes and taking in unreported money by having it transferred into your account which is not traceable to them. At any rate, if I were your friend I would do my best to end this quickly. The Korean Government will not look kindly on them or the boss if they are ever caught. My friend told me about the possibility of jail time he would have faced if they had actually caught him doing this. That is why he quickly stopped. Just my opinion, but it isn't worth the trouble that will catch up with your friend if they don't get out of the situation pronto. |

Simply say "no." See what happens. Or tell them to take it out of your next paycheck (which will screw their whole scam). Better yet, contact GEPIK about this. |
