I've already worked in Korea and now I'm back in Canada. I have a new job at a Korean uni starting in March. I have no idea when the visa will be processed or when I'll be able to go back again.
Thing is, I still have a lot of stuff that I have to pack up over there and I want to travel around Korea in February with a friend. If I enter Korea on a tourist visa, will I be able to change it to an E-2 once I'm in the country?
With all these new regulations I don't know which way is up. |

No.
However, since you've worked in Korea before....assuming that you got your first E-2 visa from the consulate in your home country (Canada)....you might be able to do a visa run to Japan to pick up your E-2.
I say might because I don't think anyone has done it since the new regulations...and because the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing over here.[/b] |
