No, not really. But now that I have your attention Id like to raise an important point. The other day, Charles Gibson, the moderator on the New Hampshire debate started the Democratic Party segment of the debate with a statement something like this: "Experts say that the US has a 30-50% chance of being attacked with a nuclear bomb within the next 10 years. Im surprised it hasnt been discussed more in the campaign so far. As a candidate, what do you think needs to be done?

I think that is a good question. Suppose your country is the one with a major city that has a 30-50% chance of being the target of a nuclear attack within the next 10 years?

Since it is impossible to change the past, please refrain from stating what shouldnt have happened in the past. If you care to post, talk about what should happen in the future.

Scenario #1:
Some radical Indonesian Muslims make a deal with Papua-New Guinea allowing them to hide out and shout Kings X when they are there, but sneak out in small boats and head for Australian ports with small bombs. Eventually, your secret service learns they have purchased a nuke on the black market.

Scenario #2:
Denmark, ticked off at Canada, allows the WehateCanadaandallshestandsforCoalition to shack up in Greenland while slipping into Canada with suicide bombers. Then the Brits tell you that the Wehaters have scored at least one nuke from a disgruntled Russian scientist.

Scenario #3:
Samoa becomes fed up with Kiwi oppression of Polynesian people and offers sanctuary for the PolynesianPeoplesParty. After a few months of random bombings on Queen Street, word comes down that the PPP has a nuke or two packed away in a ship in their harbor.

What do you do?

Send in black Ops teams with consultations with Indonesian forces. Stop and seize as many boats approaching the OZ coast as possible (knowing that if it's in the water, chances are it'll hit land).

Worry not in the least. Population density in Canada is so low, that if they were to drop a bomb, it'd kill 50 people and a corner gas station at best.

Not much, Samoa is a sovereign nation and if I ant to do anything, it would have to be full scale war.

Make sure our intelligence agency doesn't stage an attack.

I'm not sure if I should ask: Just let some other agency stage the attack...or do nothing and let (as some conspiracy theorists claim Bush did) the bad guys attack.

You forgot the Indians. They are ready to nuke Sydney right now. Laughing (only cricket fans will get that one).

With this headline Ya-ta Boy officially becomes a TROLL. Evil or Very Mad Another poster whose threads could be skipped without opening when they have outrageous thread titles.

One thing I don't miss from back home is *beep* advertising. This is the closest thing to it I've had to put up with recently.

Maybe it's just the Current Events forum that's going to the dogs.

Yeah, Van's kind of right here, Ya-ta. For a few months I could spend hours on the CE and actually have a good time. Lately it seems like most of the threads should just be ignored.
