This seems like as good a time as any to revive the troll thread, doesn't it?
While I agree with a few of you that Ilsanman may be guilty of casting an excessively wide troll-net, I'm afraid some of your troll-nets are much too narrow. The fact is that we really don't know who we're dealing with on the Internet. "Peter Jackson" came across as a normal person, and he turned out to be a sicko in real life. Some "new" poster named "busby" just gained a lot of unwarranted attention in another thread by pretending to be HIV-positive. That's an incredibly sick jokeit makes a total mockery of people who really are living with HIV, and it makes it harder for us to believe any future posters who may find themselves in that situation for real. This busby character managed to trivialize HIV and at the same time victimize a lot of people including me who were a bit too eager to offer their sympathy to some stranger on the Internet.
Is "busby" a 24/7 "career troll"? We really don't know. We know nothing about him except that he just joined Dave's under his current user name. Maybe he has other accounts, and maybe he uses some of them to engage in serious conversations. If so, does that make him anything other than a troll?
On another site recently, some loser sent me a "butt plug" and "Vagisil" along with vulgar messages that I won't repeat here. Another sent me a photo of some woman eating her own diarrhea. Both these people have respectable online identities, and they've engaged many of you in nice friendly chats about this and that (but not about butt plugs or diarrhea-eating). Should we think well of these people? Should we come to this site and enjoy a nice cup of tea with them as long as theyre logged in as their official characters? Sorry, but I dont fucking think so.

Thirded.
I retract my comments about endoftheworld and cunning_stunt being the biggest trolls. I forgot about our favourite sensitive gyopo.

Komerican a troll? I think that's nonsense. Raving apolgist? Heavens, yes. Sensitive gyopo? Likely. More red herrings than the CEO of the world's largest red herring corporation? You bet.
A: There's a lot of racism in Korea.
B: There's a lot of racism everywhere, especially in the West.
A: Red herring. You haven't even bothered to try and contradict my claim - you just introduced a new topic.
Red herrings are a favorite tactic of an apologist for anything.
But troll? To be a troll, you've got to be solely in the business of annoying people deliberately for your own amusement. Komerican may annoy you but I doubt it's for its own sake and deliberate. He or she does appear to genuinely believe what they say. |

Yes, that's the scary part.
I think he's a troll b/c of how blatantly anti-american he is, and also how he can stare the truth in the eyes and still deny it. |
