Actually, it's only in Korea it's declining. In fact, the T level here is in the negative, thereby dragging down the worldwide average.
(There are two 15 year old boys standing by another teachers desk right now waiting for something. They are touching each others ding-dongs.) |

Maybe it's an evolutionary thing. Men and women don't get along well so eventually we're just gonna be the same thing so we quit fighting and divorcing one another. It's better for the kids if you know what I mean.
On a serious note have you noticed how many people have anxiety these days? My dad said it didn't really exist in his day but these days everyone knows someone who has it. I think it is also caused by all the garbage we keep putting into our bodies. |

I thought hairyness was purely genetics. I recall my younger brother claiming hair growth was highly influenced by your maternal grandfather. He said he heard it from his uni professor. The poor kid is showing signs of male pattern baldness and all the men in our paternal side still have a thick head of hair. But my Mom's dad ... bald. He's still a great looking kid regardless. |

Dietary intake of fat (INCLUDING) saturated fats play a very important role in hormone production. The predominant "healthy" diet for the last 25 years has been a low fat diet, even going so far as the Surgeon General telling people to stay away from high fat food. This was never based on any research at all. We're finding studies that show people with 40%+ of their dietary calories coming from fat can be much 'healthier' (cardiovascular indicators and insulin sensitivity) than the standard American diet.
Vitamin D starts the chain of creating testosterone as well. Men work office and desk jobs a lot more than they did in the 70s.
Anyway, not much problem with having low-normal testosterone, or testosterone 15% lower than average (still in the very normal range) if you are doing everything right and eating healthy. Testosterone isn't that great for your HDL cholesterol levels in the long run. The people that are fatigued and weak don't have levels that are simply 15% lower than average. A 15% drop is nothing because 1 standard deviation is extremely wide for the 'normal range' in endogenous male testosterone. |
The 15% drop is only over the last 10 years. We don't know what men's testosterone levels were before the forties, because it was only first discovered in the thirties, but levels seemed to have been declining since then. More studies are needed to see if this trend will continue.
They did cancel out possibly factors like obesity and smoking which are both known to directly affect t-levels.
I have read that too much soy can lower t-levels, but not sure if that's scientifically proven or just a rumor. Clearly, besides the chemical issues, the crappy diet many eat today would be something worth looking at. |

| There's always testosterone supplementation you can get- many men get it from their doctors. I understand this remains controversial, but the option exists and may prove safe with time and further research. |

It's because time and modernization has created a society in which masculinity is completely irrelevant and useless.
There's no running around with a spear trying to poke some dinner, no holding down the homestead with bow and arrow.
Instead we (men) are chasing sports cars, working jobs we hate so we can buy 5hit we don't need. We masturbatorily watch sports, westerns, and action films to make our masculinity seem relevant.
Just read "Fight Club." It's all there, man. And it sucks.
That's why testosterone levels are declining in our industrial, Starbucked society. There's no need for it anymore. All of the land is settled. There are no animals to fight off anymore. Aside from the occasional bar room scuffle, there's really no hand to hand combat either.
If humans are around in a million years, there will be one gender: women.

There's a huge skew of extra males in India and China because of their preference for male children, and those societies make up 1/3 of the global population. Maybe nature is finding a way, to quote M. Crichton. You don't need a 1:1 male/female ratio in nature, maybe 1:2 would be better. Also, most male homosexuals are pretty much counted out for reproducing as well.
Also, too much sedentary living could be a factor. |

What did you beep? My theory: Testes. "The testes displayed by men on this thread just proves the subject line..."
I think that makes sense. Every male, somewhat tentatively, exposed his scrotum for inspection to DESLC gonad inspection board, and to their collective chagrin, find that they've atrophied to approximately squirrel-size. The horror! Chtulu ftagn! |

I just wish my freaking moustache would come in already. I'm going to have gray hair by the time I can grow a freaking 'stache. |

I think it's psychological with a physiological response.
Men are not encouraged to be men these days. They're told they're perverts at every corner, and that "No means NO." Am I saying that's a bad thing? No, but I'm a firm believer that it's causing more men to become wussies who hide their penises behind computer monitors rather than going out and seeking the real thing
Feminism is stealing testosterone. |
Personal experience?
Feminism is the belief that women should have rights equal to those of men. Can you really say you're not a proponent of that word when you actually understand what it means, rather than taking Rush Limbaugh's word for it that it's the shibboleth of the boogie man? |
