I agree with those who suggested finding something quiet and relaxing in town. Maybe picking a local cafe with a good atmosphere and not too many patrons - where you can go and have a nice, long conversation - can be a worthwhile alternative to heading somewhere new. Think of a few questions beforehand so you aren't stuck speechless, but just let her (and yourself) talk about whatever subjects come up. I've done this a couple of times and had the girl tell me that she really enjoyed the experience.
Hope you end up getting some good ideas from this thread! |
They've been dating six months. If I were dating someone six months and still had to script conversations or was afraid of silence...I would dump them. |
I just hope buddy read the DON'T DO IT BOYZ thread and keeps in mind that when said girl goes under the transformation, boring times in Anyang will be looking pretty good...anything will look good! |

Definitely a good policy to have. I just figured that, if the OP lives in a city of 600,000+ and can't find anything to do, the extra suggestion might be useful. Maybe I didn't think that one through long enough before commenting. |

A walk along the river is nice. The Haguicheon. It goes almost up past Indeogwan into a pretty quiet area. Nice at night. Yeah, just chilling at home is cool for a girl who lives with her parents. It is her turn to be in charge. Take turns choosing movies at the movie store. One night Korean movie next night English movie. Take turns choosing the food or snaks or drinks. That is the great part about an intercultural relationship, showing each other new things that you've never seen or had before. You learn about each other that way and will learn if it will last.
Some nights just use the 2 hours for screwing. |

I agree with the girls. Just relax with her. Cook her dinner. Watch some movies, maybe even take an art class together once a week. Plan for a large trip on your next anniversary - go out of country. Even if it's just for the weekend, girls appreciate that kind of stuff. |
Maybe I'll just make her Kraft Dinner tonight. Seriously, she has never had it before, I'll tell her it's a traditional American meal and that it takes days to prepare. |
And Princess thinks romance is dead in Korea
Start a hobby you can share with your gf. Wasn't there someone on this forum that was trying to hit up all the love motels in a certain area? |

Hey Ieatsmurfs6,
Sorry to jump your post, but is there a Doctor Fish in Anyang? If there is, would you mind telling me where?
Cheers,

Beomgye station, exit two. As soon as you're up the stairs, look to the LEFT. Second floor, it's Tree Cafe or something like that. |

I also live in the Pyeonchon-Anyang area.
If youre bored come around for a coffee or we could meet some somewhere local, if youre keen to meet some one new and in a similar position.
I am from NZ and my wife is Korean. We are in our mid 30ties

Go visit the nice love hotels in and around Korea. Start off with the Tomgi in Insadong Seoul or the Lexi in Gangnam.
The Tomgi was freaking sweet. My Korean GF was adamant about NOT going to love hotels. Then we went to the Tomgi and I got the VIP room.
Big jacuzzi tub with bubble baths. Thats all I gotta say. |

Heading up from Hagwon-ga, stroll across Central Park and over to the kimbap window near Storyway for a chun-won roll dinner. Next hit up Atlanta for some recycled popcorn; maybe watch a few Queen and Eagles videos up on the big screen there.
When you've filled your quota of cheesy decades-old rock, grab a free coffee from the tofu house, suck back some kogi mandu at the pojangmacha at the Acrotower end of the strip, then bum a ride to Club Psycho to play some free pool.
If your date's a bore, you can always bail in favor of cheap pints and football at Irish Dream , located conveniently nearby. Along the way, take heed to dodge the double threat of in-your-face hip-hop club doormen trying to lure you inside with the prospect of "sex-shi girls" and obnoxious inebriated teens who want to show off their poor English skills.
If, however, you've impressed your date with your on-the-scene Anyang style, what better way to end the night than to check into one of Pyeongchon's fine love motels.
Have fun! |
